About this experience
Bankatiya is a high camp in the Kumaon Himalaya, reached on foot through forest, meadow and moraine from the roadhead beyond Munsiyari. There are no buildings and no signal — just tents, a kitchen, and a ring of snow peaks that turn gold at sunset.
This is our base camp experience for people who want the feeling of being high in the mountains without committing to a full expedition. We keep the walking days manageable, handle the camp, the food and the logistics, and give you time at the top to actually take it in. Meet your guide, go over the route and kit, and take an easy acclimatisation walk around town.
