About this experience
The five summits of Panchachuli are the defining view of eastern Kumaon. Most people see them from Munsiyari, across the valley. This trek takes you round to the other side, up the Darma valley, to stand right at their feet.
The route begins in the Rung villages of Dugtu and Dantu, where we stay with local families, before heading up through birch forest and meadow to the Panchachuli glacier. It is one of the most rewarding treks in Uttarakhand for the effort involved — and it comes with the bonus of time in one of its most interesting valleys.
